No Phone Zone. Ready to Learn. Disconnect to reconnect.

With the release of the provincial directive on cell phone use in schools on June 6, 2024, a letter from Education and Early Childhood Development Minister Druhan was shared with families, staff and School Advisory Councils (SACs) that included background information related to the provincial consultation and details on the directive.

The SRCE supports and welcomes the provincial directive and will work closely with school staff to ensure its successful implementation this school year. Any time we are able to be part of initiatives to support student well-being and success, we view as a positive step forward. This new directive will improve student engagement and foster a more inclusive, respectful and safe learning and teaching environment for all students.
