As part of the public education system in Nova Scotia, the Strait Regional Centre for Education (SRCE) was established on April 1, 2018, to deliver the public school program focusing on student learning and achievement. Located in the northeastern part of Nova Scotia, the Strait Regional Centre for Education’s jurisdiction includes the counties of Antigonish, Guysborough, Inverness and Richmond, an area of approximately 11,000 square kilometres.
Background: With the passage of the Education Reform (2018) Act on March 9, 2018, the Strait Regional School Board was officially renamed the Strait Regional Centre for Education, and the title of Superintendent of Schools was changed to Regional Executive Director of Education as of April 1, 2018.
